Climate change is a challenge we can't afford to ignore. At WeMaintain, we take real, measurable steps to reduce our environmental impact. Our 2023 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Report, developed in collaboration with Greenly, gives a clear view of where we stand on carbon emissions and how we’re moving forward in our journey to Net Zero. It’s a critical step in aligning our operations with global sustainability goals.

What the Report Covers

Our report breaks down the carbon footprint across all areas of our operations into three scopes:

  • Scope 1 (Direct Emissions): Emissions directly controlled by us, such as fuel combustion and refrigerant leaks.
  • Scope 2 (Indirect Energy Emissions): Emissions from our electricity, heat, and steam consumption.
  • Scope 3 (Other Indirect Emissions): The largest category, including transportation, product purchases, and commuting.

This analysis helps us focus on where we can make the greatest reductions.

Total Emissions

In 2023, our total emissions amounted to 3.8 kilotonnes of CO2e, comparable to the annual emissions of 396 French residents or about 2,100 Paris-New York flights.

Our Reduction Strategies

We’re committed to reducing emissions, and here’s what we’re doing:

  1. Product Purchases: Implementing carbon impact policies in our procurement process and prioritising eco-friendly materials.
  2. Service Purchases: Encouraging partners to adopt sustainable practices, amplifying our impact through collaboration.
  3. Travel and Commute: Promoting teleworking, carpooling, and greener transportation options to cut commuting emissions.

What’s Next?

We’re setting ambitious goals to reduce emissions by 3% to 7% annually through:

  • Clear Reduction Targets: Setting specific goals across all business areas.
  • Supplier and Employee Engagement: Collaborating with suppliers and engaging employees to support daily sustainability efforts.
  • Enhanced Emissions Tracking: Moving to more detailed physical data for better accuracy in emissions monitoring.

Committing to a Net Zero Future

This report is just the start. The actions we’re taking now will help us meet our Net Zero targets and contribute to a more sustainable world. We’re excited to continue this journey and share our progress with you.
